The MIAH Islamic Arts & Heritage Gallery is delighted to bring you our Arabic Calligraphy Course: Level 2, a six-part workshop series on Arabic Calligraphy (thuluth script). Each session will be run by Ustadh Ahmad Mohamad, a traditionally trained calligrapher and a member of the Egyptian General Association of Calligraphers.
These sessions are suitable for those who attended our Calligraphy Course: Level 1 sessions, or those who otherwise have calligraphy experience. The sessions comprise a graded learning series developing students' skills in Arabic calligraphy. Over the course, you will learn how to join Arabic letters and create ligatures using a calligrapher's pen, focussing on the essential techniques needed to master this aspect of Arabic Calligraphy. As you develop through the course, you will develop the skills needed to move from calligraphy pens to traditional reed pens. In addition, students will gain an appreciation for the deeper meaning behind the letters and words, helping them connect with the art form on a more profound level.
These sessions will be run weekly from Sunday 3rd August - Sunday 7th September 2025, from 2:00pm-3:30pm. The course price includes all six sessions plus materials.
