Join the MIAH Foundation Team: Apprenticeship Opportunity
4 December 2023

Cultural Learning & Participation Officer

(30 hours per week)

We know how difficult it is to build experience in the arts, culture and heritage sector - even more so if you are interested in working in the Islamic arts/heritage sector. Over the last year we have offered two paid internships and opened up spaces for volunteers to join the team and shape our programming. Our interns found it a very valuable experience and have used what they learnt to take up other paid work in the sector. We are pleased to announce that we are now able to take the training we can offer one step further in the form of a one-year apprenticeship as a Cultural Learning & Participation Officer.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cultural Learning and Participation Officer to be based in our new gallery space in Balsall Heath, Birmingham. Over the next year we will be developing a full programme of activities to engage local communities and schools. Your role will be to support the planning, organising and co-ordination of our artistic and cultural education workshops, our schedules of activity and community engagement projects. In addition to your off-the-job paid training, you will be provided with in-house training in Islamic art, as well as teaching and guided resources to increase your knowledge and understanding around Islamic art and history.

For further details and the link to the application form, visit our course provider's website: https://creativealliance.org.uk/opportunities/cultural-learning-participation-officer-apprentice/

We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis until the vacancy is filled. Please submit your application before midnight on Tuesday 12th December to be considered in the first round.
