Two Paid MIAH Internships

Job Title:  MIAH Foundation Intern

Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of remote work, visits to Cadbury Research Library and work in various community settings around Birmingham)

Pay: £9.50/hr

Term: 80 hours in total (including training) over 16 weeks: January 2023 – May 2023). There will be some variation in hours according to the schedule of events, but working hours are expected to average 5 hours per week, with occasional evenings or weekends.

The MIAH Foundation is pleased to announce that it is offering two short-term paid internships aimed at anyone wishing to gain experience in curating digital exhibitions and/or working in the arts and heritage sector. The role involves working closely with the Mingana Collection of Middle Eastern Manuscripts at the Cadbury Research Library (University of Birmingham) and supporting MIAH Foundation’s collaboration with the Cadbury Research Library. The position will be of particular interest to anyone considering a career that engages the public with the arts or history of the Islamic world, or a career that involves curating exhibitions.

Subject to the availability of suitable candidates, it is intended that one of these positions will be offered to West Midlands-based students or recent graduates (graduated in 2021 or 2022); the other position will be open to anyone who is a resident of the West Midlands who is interested in gaining experience working with cultural collections or exhibitions.
