Sonia is a multi -award winning dance artist and specialises in Kathak, Choreography, Movement Direction and Community Engagement. Her work is current and relates to modern audiences nationally and internationally, and explores the inspirations and complexities of Eastern and Western cultures. With 20 years’ experience, she has crafted a unique approach and aesthetic to open creative discourse on political, social, cultural, environmental and women related issues. Sonia  performs for stage, screen and site-specific presentations including small to mid-scale venues to large-scale festivals. She choreographs for an array of commissions including theatre, film, gallery and museum. Her community engagement work focusses on women empowerment using the tools of movement and storytelling and expressive arts as well to improve mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Sonia Sabri Company delivers performances, workshops and outreach for schools and community groups, and curates free fun family one day festivals focussed on arts, crafts and literature from across the middle east to the Indian sub-continent.
